why an online shop?
I had a conversation quite early on is the process of researching about this Biohacking phenomena with "S", the body art studio owner I have done my physical ethnography in. He, as a tattoo artist much preferred to discuss his tattoos and designs seemed to be rather annoyed with my relentless interest in the microchips implants and his Biohacker costumers than his body art. Which led him at a certain point to say: "it's just part of the catalogue".
That why of referring to this practice stroke me rather profoundly and it carried on in the why this project took shape in my mind and in the why it resonates throughout my findings.
